I started this job as an intern through my college course in March 2017. The internship lasted for 3 months until June and I was kept on as a member of the team from then on.As I joined the company while it was a startup, I was lucky enough to see it grow during my time there. While my title was Lead Developer, it was quite a versatile role spanning different sectors of the business with digital marketing becoming a much bigger role as time went on.Some of my main roles included- Maintenance of the website including weekly plugin updates, content updates, and building new pages as needed. I took care of the SEO on the website. This included monitoring our Google ranking and seeing what could be done in case we saw a continuous drop in rankings by changing around some keywords on the website's product pages and blog posts. I also added and updated products on WooCommerce as needed.- Customer support - as Premier TEFL offers online courses, I often needed to give support to our customers who may have been having issues navigating the courses website, need a username and/or password reset- Digital Marketing - A big role I took on outside of the standard developer job was to be in charge of marketing. Including building and sending newsletters to our databases. Managing the various lists of people on our marketing database. Scheduling posts using Hootsuite. I also had the opportunity to travel to Bangkok for a week in 2019 where part of my work was to get marketing material such as images and videos while also taking over the Instagram account for the week.- Finance - Processing weekly refunds, calculating our daily sales tally to share with the team, and providing a monthly report of our sales and refunds through Pay Pal and Stripe to the company's MD.- In house tech support
