Successful and effective leadership as Chief Executive of one of the largest Police and Crime Commissioner offices in England and Wales. Responsibility as statutory monitoring officer for commissioning of over £560 M of services per annum. Successes include leading the first devolution of Policing governance to a Combined Authority and the first Criminal Justice devolution deal. I was also an active member of the Wider Leadership Team of Chief Executives that delivered the whole Greater Manchester devolution deal. I developed strong and successful partnerships with public sector and voluntary bodies to commission and co-design value added services to reduce vulnerability in areas such as Domestic Abuse , Mental Health and Modern Day Slavery.

I developed and delivered a new vision for Community Services at Tameside covering cultural venues including libraries, street cleansing, parks maintenance, customer services, welfare rights and third sector engagement. This restructuring programme was based on robust public consultation and successfully delivered budget savings of fifty percent whilst retaining high quality services. During my 13 years with responsibility for these services I gained valuable skills and experience in delivering high pressure front line services as well as strategically re-positioning services as part of a major redesign.

Ashton Under Lyne

Utilising learning from my Masters degree, I undertook the first major review of the council's assets. This included buildings, land, roads and other civil engineering assets. I introduced a new system for assessing buildings based on condition, utilisation and functionality which was held up as best practice. In my time at Tameside I was responsible for achieving three Beacon Awards for community engagement and customer services.
