The app was responsible for streaming millions of genomic data files to the cloud for analysis.- Built a data aggregation tool in Pandas (Python), making it possible to visualise all the millions of rows of data produced by the files- Gained 3+ years experience working with AngularJS, D3, React, NodeJS and Pandas (Python)Oxford Nanopore Technologies has developed the worlds first nanopore DNA sequencer, the MinION. The MinION is a palm-sized, low cost and real time device that has the power to analyse DNA anywhere. It could help track disease outbreaks, run checks on food or diagnose any infection within hours.I worked as the Data Visualisation Specialist within the Metrichor team. We're developing a cloud-based bioinformatics platform for the analysis of nanopore data. Most notably, I've had an active role in the development of the WIMP (What's in my pot) workflow. Starting with an unprocessed sample, bacteria, viruses and fungi present in the sample are classified by the WIMP workflow to subspecies and strain level in a quantitative manner in approximately 3 - 4 hours. -
