Prevent Biometrics is the leading head impact monitoring company, with years of research and development leading to the production of the first accurate and precise mass-produced impact monitoring system. Because concussions are related to high impact workload, and failure to immediately identify concussion can potentially lead to missed training time as well as negative health outcomes, it is important to monitor head impacts.Over the past 10 years, the Prevent Biometrics system, known as the Impact Monitoring Mouthguard (IMM), has been proven accurate in the laboratory and in the field. And published studies in 2020 confirmed the IMM's data correlation to Obvious Performance Decrement (OPD). As the IMM is more broadly deployed, the data is proving for the first time, that athletes and soldiers who've sustained low, medium or high head impact workloads can be immediately identified for correlation to any observed decrement in performance.

Prevent Biometrics, a Cleveland Clinic spin-off, has developed patented concussion impact monitoring technology that detects concussion causing impacts, allowing parents, coaches and trainers to monitor athletes in real time on the field of play. Embedded in a mouthguard and paired with a mobile app, Prevent's system delivers real time alerts to caregivers when athletes receive impacts that exceed predictive thresholds. The system identifies those athletes for assessment, significantly reducing the risk of undetected and untreated concussions. The Prevent system is based on Cleveland Clinic's impact dosimeter research, which meets the NFL Level I validity specification based on peer reviewed data (Bartsch et al. 2014 Stapp Car Crash J.)

Collaborating with Dan Brett DDS, Sportsguard Laboratories and Prevent Biometrics (Cleveland Clinic spin-off) on development and commercialization of an "Intelligent Mouthguard" single event head impact dosimeter. By mounting sensors inside a mouthguard we are able to accurately and precisely measure head impacts in real time and without directional sensitivity in athletics. Intellectual property involves Polyshok polymers, mouthguard forming procedures, algorithms for brain injury from kinematic data and real time punch counting in boxing/MMA. Clinical trials ongoing in Las Vegas, Nevada and Northeast Ohio. Other collaborators include Edward Benzel MD, Chairman Cleveland Clinic Department of Neurosurgery and Vincent Miele MD, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Neurosurgery and Pittsburgh Steelers.
