PreservaScan emerged from the need to digitise a vast amount of personal and organisational documents dating back to the 1700s, which could not be safely digitised using consumer-grade equipment. Faced with prohibitively expensive professional services, my co-founder and I invested in archival-grade digitisation technologies. This led to the development of a bespoke online document management and indexing platorm, and eventually, a production platform for classical handwriting recognition for documents pre-1970s - something which is not covered by most commercial solutions.We established PreservaScan to offer these solutions commercially at highly competitive rates compared to similar companies. We have successfully digitised a wide range of documents for several clients and are scaling operations to meet the growing needs of larger clients.I am involved in PreservaScan from an investment and development perspective, but do not take a significant role in day-to-day operations, focusing my time on Oso.

I've joined Moorfields Eye Hospital on a contract basis to lead the product and integration architecture for their new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution. The project involves integrating the open-source OpenEyes platform with Meditech Expanse, Moorfields' chosen EPR provider, to create a cohesive, clinically effective solution.My role encompasses the design of the integration piece, ensuring the seamless alignment of technical architecture with operational and clinical workflows. This includes overseeing the design and implementation of integration solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand end-to-end processes, and delivering robust, detail-oriented specifications and data models. Additionally, I provide technical input to a team of analysts and developers, ensuring the delivery meets both project goals and clinical needs.This role allows me to leverage my background in software engineering, integration, and logical systems design to support Moorfields' vision for a future-ready, patient-centred digital healthcare environment.

In March of 2022 I decided it was time for a new challenge, and took the challenging decision to step back from an operational role at Infinitive Group to enter a new sector. It has been such a pleasure watching Infinitive grow from strength to strength, and it was an honour to work with such a skilled and forward thinking team. I'm very happy to be staying on with Infinitive in the role of a Non-Executive Director in order to keep championing the business and watching it continue to grow to even greater heights.

As Emerging Services Director at Infinitive Group I was focused on developing and delivering a wide range of products and services. The core of my role was focused on keeping abreast of technological advancement across many industries and understanding how that could be implemented in the industries Infinitive Group is focused on, and also understanding how products and services in our industry could be transplanted into others. From physical engineering projects, to the development of wide scale complex systems integration designs, this role enabled me to develop a very wide skillset and understanding of numerous complex and key industries across the globe.As well as business develop and high level technical design, I also spent time developing both hardware and software solutions. These included prototype mmWave radar devices for people & vehicle detection, and embedded data capture hardware. On the software side, I was a leading part of the team that developed the Time Signal at Red project in conjunction with Deloitte for their client Network Rail. This project brought together a large number of disassociated data sources and combined them together to create a live view of the railway, otherwise known as a SORC (State of the Railway Compiler). This provided a never before seen level of insight into the operation of the UK railway, and is poised for further development to identify gaps and flaws in timetables, as well as assist with delay attribution charges.Over the course of my time in this role I produced and contributed technical insight into numerous bespoke solutions, covering everything from sand hopper agitation and monitoring systems, to systems that remotely monitored the use of green fuels on freight locomotives. This was on top of keeping a hand in the everyday operations of the business, and supporting the development & maintenance of various product lines.

In November of 2017 I, along with two friends, Co-Founded Infinitive Group. We founded Infinitive Group in order to drive our passion for innovative, creative and leading engineering. We developed a strong track record of delivery and in depth technical knowledge of the transport industry, and as such we grew into a respected, independent, specialist consultancy within the sector.As the Principal Software Developer at Infinitive Group I led in the design and build of cutting edge transport data systems and technologies. During my time as Principal Software Developer I primarily utilised the following technologies & platforms:- Java (Maven, Selenium, Log4J, etc.)- ELK (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana)- Openstack- AWS- Azure- PostgreSQL- SQL Server- Tibco Spotfire- Objective-C- Javascript- NodeJS- HTML5, CSS3, etc.My time was split between reverse engineering legacy systems & technologies in order to integrate them into our ecosystem, and architecting and developing new and cutting edge applications to bring to the market. I led on various bids including for hardware rollout and fitment to rolling stock, and developed bespoke applications which enabled clients to obtain and manage vehicle data in much more efficient and cost effective ways.As the business grew and our needs changed, my role naturally moved to a hybrid role between engineering and business development, and as such in August 2020 I moved from the role of Principal Software Developer to Emerging Services Director.

This 6 month contract role working on the Apollo project at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (also including KCH & RBHH) was born out of a need to temporarily grow the technical architecture function of the team during the build up & deployment of Epic. My work primarily involved design & delivery of a mixture of application, system, and network architecture, combined with the relevant change management and documentation delivery. I worked on delivering the platforms & connectivity to allow data feeds into and out of Epic, whilst ensuring that attached clinical services (Zeiss, Bloodtrack, etc.) functioned across the organisation ahead of the multi-trust go-live.

Azzurro Associates is a specialist investment firm targeted at procuring large portfolios of commercial debt, primarily focused on non- performing loans. Azzurro additionally encompasses Azzurro Law, who offer legal services specific to the servicing of commercial debt. I joined Azzurro Associates to head up the entirety of the technology function, and take the business from a position of uncertainty around the use of technology to a position of assured strength. In my time at Azzurro I have achieved the following: - The assessment, analysis, and complete replacement of the technology Managed Service Provider including the migration of all licences, Azure subscriptions, network management, procurement pipeline, managed processes, and service desk with 0 minutes of downtime.- The ideation, design, and development of an automated supplier file analysis & management tool leading to a potential 4 man-days saved each week in Engineering.- The complete assessment and partial re-architecting of areas of the Azure cloud provision to improve security & reduce costs (Azure bill reduced on average 20% month-on-month netted off against costs of increase data analysis).- The implementation of a complete XDR solution (SIEM, SOAR, EDR) complete with a remote SOC to handle events.- The development of a number of bespoke utilities to improve business efficiency.- The re-platforming of a key line of business system leading to significant reliability improvements.

In February of 2020, just prior to the COVID lockdown, we expanded our territorial focus outside of the UK market and into Australia. Australia has a huge rail network, particularly focused on the freight and mining markets. Over the past several years we have developed relationships with various Australian operators and have delivered several projects in Australia across various different industries.When I took a step back from an operational role at Infinitive Group I resigned my directorship in the Australian business, however as it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Infinitive Group Limited I remain a non-executive director of the business.

Following Atos IT Services obtaining the contract for outsourced IT at University College of London Hospitals over the incumbent, CGI, I was asked to join Atos to assist them in supporting the application estate at UCLH. In July of 2017 I moved to Atos and began a handover of the existing applications. This primarily involved supporting the various line of business applications I had developed for UCLH, however the role quickly expanded into supporting other Atos medical accounts such as the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust. I worked alongside various teams at Atos to provide health-centric technical architecture consultancy and expertise. I managed the software compatibility assessments for the entire software estate during the site-wide Windows 7 upgrade, and I worked to ensure that the clinical environment (and therefore patient care) was not negatively affected by the ongoing upgrade works. My experience in delivering projects and successful organisational change within the medical field was key to the success of some of these projects. Had it not been for an opportunity to launch an exciting new business I would've continued to enjoy supporting Atos in delivering some of these fantastic and exciting projects.

In early 2013 UCLH was beginning to explore the use of mobile computing devices in the healthcare provider space. I was asked initially to provide some consultancy in the art of the possible and through this I eventually was asked to take on the role of Lead Mobile Applications Developer. During my time at UCLH I worked on a number of high-profile projects with the primary focuses of improving staff efficiency, improving patient care, and driving down costs.UCLH was one of the first hospitals to implement a BYOD (bring your own device) programme and I was heavily involved in defining the policy around BYOD devices. The BYOD programme won the OVUM Best Public Sector BYOX Strategy award in 2013.My team and I designed and built many proof of concept applications at UCLH and moved several of them through to production, seeing them all the way through the change management process into BAU. These included:- A fully integrated bed management system- An integrated mobile front end to the Patient Administration System (CareCast)- A system for accessing imaging through the OsiriX DICOM viewer- A patient facing Quality of Recovery application for tracking patient recovery after bariatric surgery- A system for monitoring patient SSKIN scores- A mobile document management system for clinical documentsAside from these systems I also worked on other projects such as the patient wristband project where I advised on the barcode standards and how they could be best made use of. I headed up an exploratory project using portable barcode scanning technology to reliably read the wristbands and improve patient identification. I was involved with asset tracking system implementation and worked on a trial using iBeacon technology when it was first entering the market. Over my time at UCLH the systems my team and I designed, built, and implemented made a real change to the staff at the frontline of the organisation and the patients they were treating.

Seeing a gap in the market for Motorcycle power restriction systems, I co-founded AGX Motorsport in mid 2011. We began by designing and producing a number of inlet manifold based power restriction devices for various models of motorcycle, these were primarily sold online. The product was aimed at young riders who, due to the laws at the time, were only able to ride a motorcycle with a net power output of 33BHP for the first two years of their licence. The company ceased trading when the EU 3rd directive driving laws came into force which altered the restriction conditions of the licences, which would have required us to re-engineer our entire product range.

During this period I worked as a freelance Software Engineer offering expertise in full stack systems development. I worked on a number of projects ranging from fully integrated asset tracking systems all the way through to consumer facing mobile apps.
