I established Chimera Consulting in 2001 to help clients develop great projects and to evaluate the impact of their projects and services - to enable them to learn lessons about what has worked well and what could be improved for future programme and policy making. I have 37 years of experience of working in the economic development and regeneration arena (including 9 years in local and central govt. and a regeneration partnership). Over the last 23 years Chimera has delivered over 282 high quality research and evaluation assignments to public, community and commercial sector clients. These have included Local Authorities, Government, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Universities, various economic, regeneration, employment and skills partnerships. Also many NonProfit sector community groups, in addition to social enterprises and businesses.Project development work includes building a robust evidence base through community consultation and stakeholder engagement, business planning and providing clients with advice on funding options and grant application writing support. Project and programme evaluation involves quantitative and qualitative research work to understand what has been achieved, what impact has been made, what aspects have been a real success and what aspects (at delivery or strategic levels) could be improved for future activity. I have particularly expertise in evaluating projects to help people into work and business support schemes - the employability, skills and enterprise agenda. I deliver assignments with enthusiasm, going the extra mile to ensure clients' needs are fully met and am proud of the strong client relationships that have been forged on my assignments. Clients frequently highlight my pragmatic, conscientious, flexible and professional yet personable approach to doing business, in the feedback they provide. I also operate a socially responsible businesses and have delivered almost £100,000 value of pro bono support to a number of community groups over the last 10 years. I have been active within the International Economic Development Council, as a member of the International Advisory Committee (from 2018 to 2022), gave presentations to IEDC Annual Conference in Toronto (Sep 2017), Dallas (Oct 2020) virtually and have written for ED NOW journal. I am very keen to further develop my international contacts in the economic development arena and to deliver assignments in the USA and Canada.
