I'm an experienced journalist currently covering the computer chip design and manufacturing industry for Semiconductor Engineering, where I focus on security and low power/high performance in chip design. In 2022, I graduated from Columbia Journalism School with a Master of Arts degree, focusing on science reporting. My thesis, a longform magazine article examining how the decades-long bioethical debate over brain death has influenced our understanding of what it means to die, was a runner-up for the prestigious Best Thesis Award. After graduating, I covered breaking news, science and health for the Forward, the storied outlet that has provided news for the Jewish community for over 125 years, while also contributing freelance science reporting to The Daily Beast and Brain & Life magazine. My pre-Columbia portfolio includes news, arts, sports and long-form features. Notable freelance assignments include acting as a fixer and translator for CNN during the 2018 G7 Summit in Quebec and spending several years as a contributing writer for USA Today, covering breaking news out of Canada, such as on-the-ground coverage of the 2017 Quebec City mosque shooting. Other prominent stories I've covered include the Luka Magnotta murder trial, the Lac Megantic explosion and its aftermath, Quebec's Printemps Erable student protests and elections at the federal, provincial and municipal level.
