• Full-stack engineering fellow at Formation working on the Recur team. Recur is an online platform for helping software engineers improve their development skills. As a member of one of the fellowship engineering teams, I debugged existing code as well as planned and developed new features with the help of Material UI components.• Feature #1: Integrated a hovering icon that users can click > Opens feedback form > Feedback is submitted to a custom API endpoint that sends feedback to a private Mattermost chat monitored by the team.• Bug #1: Resolved an issue rooted in Redux that caused users to see rapidly changing exam questions before settling on one instead of only displaying the selected question. Fix improved user experience for all users.

• Launched Onward Global’s web presence by creating www.OnwardGlobal.com using HTML, CSS, JS, integrated Typeform to send inquiries directly to the business, and deployed via Dreamhost.• Increased user retention by 2.5% for KFC’s WeChat Pocket Franchise app (5M users) by leading a project to design and manufacture an IOT device (5K units, software, firmware, and backend integration)• Developed front-end features on 10+ production projects such as “add to cart” for a food ordering app, audio file sort based on category, end to end development for OnwardGlobal.com, and more.• Led team of 3 developers and designers, and contributed code across 10 projects - ideation, code reviews, testing, and deployment.• Mentored junior developer interns from an exchange program that brought CS students from Switzerland to China to get real world experience. Lead them through design, development and QA for an app MVP in a two week sprint.

• Joined team as developer/localization advisor creating their first Chinese-market product: A WeChat meditation app designed for pregnant mothers to quantifiably measure changes in their mood and stress, before and after mediation.• Learned the WeChat mini program framework based on Vue.js to engineer meditation app’s frontend JS logical layer.• Overcame native WeChat page navigation limits (10 page layers) by architecting app to strategically post data and clear layer cache. Resulted in being able to create the full UX our team designed without compromise.• Engineered key features to meditation UX by building audio track selection tool and audio player.• Built an algorithm in JavaScript to objectively measure meditation’s impact on user’s mood/stress in percent.• Improved personalization by creating an algorithm in JavaScript that curates meditations based on desired mood.• Reduced CEO’s weekly data analysis time by 5 hours by optimizing data collection process between multiple apps.
