I am the General Counsel and corporate Secretary of Signal Advisors, a venture-backed company that helps independent financial advisors grow their business in various ways—through technology, financing, peer-to-peer coaching, marketing, and more.Prior to joining Signal Advisors I practiced with Hooper Hathaway and Varnum in Michigan, with Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., and clerked for the Honorable Ed Carnes of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. I also co-founded the online advertising companies eatblue.com/Ugrub, as well as the promotions company Ubars.My background includes a significant amount litigation experience, including successfully obtaining a $15.1 million jury verdict in federal court and a record-setting $4.32 million jury verdict in state court. I earned my JD and MBA from Emory University, where I graduated ranked first in my law school class, served as a managing editor of the Emory Law Journal, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and was inducted into the business school’s beta gamma sigma honor society. I earned my undergraduate business degree, with high distinction, from the University of Michigan.
