I’ve worked full time for two different clients in the banking and investment industry.During these contracts I have been working with C#, SQL Server, Kubernetes, Redis, WPF, REST, WCF, Azure DevOps, and various Azure technologies (such as Azure ServiceBus, CosmosDB, Application Gateways, Traffic Managers, Azure SQL, Key Vaults)My responsibilities during these contracts have been development, operations, support and architecture. One of the contract also involved me interviewing and assessing the technical capabilities of all potential candidates for developer positions, both for hire and contracting.

The department I was hired to was going to go through an interesting transition, replacing almost 90% of the workforce to a lower number, but higher qualified individuals. This included bringing home several outsourced projects. Alongside this we where going to transition every team to a new DevOps pipeline, as well as bringing all projects up to a more modern set of development environments and frameworks. Some of the technologies and tools used where C#, CosmosDB, Azure SQL, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Akamai, REST, and OAuth2.

The Payments department had further grown, and I was given the role of Architect Manager, which meant that I was responsible for the overall architecture of the systems, but also had personnel responsibility over the other architects.During this time we moved the whole payments platform to Azure, including all older systems.

The Payments department at Collector Bank had at this time grown to several development teams, and I was given the role of System Architect, where I was to be a supportive role to all of the teams that needed help with architecturally related problems, suggest general improvements for CI/CD, as well as create a long term plan for the architecture of the department.All new systems where now being built on Azure, but the older systems where still on regular hosting providers. We also improved our development lead times by utilizing Feature Flagging instead of regular branching.

I was Team Lead for the development team that was building Collectors payment solution.The role included being part of the team as a developer, but also responsible for continuous improvements on the process that the team choose to use. We started out using Scrum, but later it transitioned into Kanban.I also was took a main part in the hiring process of new developers for Collector. I performed interviews and assessed the technical capabilities of potential recruits for the Payments department, and sometimes helped out other departments. I did this throughout my three and a half years at Collector, interviewing around 60-70 people.

I only had one consulting assignment while I was working for Squeed, and it was as a developer in the team at Collector Bank that was building their new Payments system. In this team I quickly took a lot of responsibilities regarding the database, because of my passion for it. The team where using a lot of C#, SQL Server, WCF, WPF and MSMQ.
