Aviation Ground Support Department; performed concurrently with Fuels Support Analyst billet at 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW).- As a formally trained Aviation Ground Support (AGS) instructor, performed readiness evaluations on each AGS unit on the east coast, providing detailed critiques of airfield operations, operations center procedures, air base security operations, air base recovery operations, and aviation/ground refueling operations. Served as the 2d MAW AGS liaison to the Weapons & Tactics Instructor (WTI) schoolhouse for personnel and equipment, working with the WTI staff in Yuma, AZ to coordinate institutional AGS training. Culminating from six courses of instruction, 2d MAW gained 13 school-trained AGS WTIs.- Served as sole 2d MAW AGS liaison during the conduct of Bold Alligator Aviation Mission Rehearsal Exercise 17 (BAAMREX-17) while establishing a precedence for AGS involvement in future Wing-level exercises and provided broad-spectrum aviation ground support and logistics-centric feedback to enhance future C2 training exercises. - Served as the action officer for WTI course 2-15 equipment planning, initiating the first cross-country AGS equipment sourcing of east coast to west coast service-level training support. Coordinated with 14 units located in four states (NC, SC, CA, AZ) in order to facilitate equipment sourcing of 1,676 principle end items from.- Served as the AGS lead planner and G-4 Operations Officer during II Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise (MEFEX) 2016, providing operational leadership in the execution of broad-spectrum Wing-level logistics. Additionally, served as the lead AGS planner for four additional Wing-level planning evolutions; as part of the core operational planning team, provided both tactical input for scenario design and execution as well as functional input for logistics support and site construction.

Frequently, coordination with other agencies, both interservice and internationally, are required. Duties range from developing bulk fuel site rear area security plans, to emplacement of a bulk fuel system, to writing the bulk fuel portion of operation orders. Environmental concerns are extremely crucial in any training scenario. Served in the ranks of Private (E-1) through Staff Sergeant (E-6).Bulk Fuel Specialists (MOS 1391) install, operate, maintain and repair fuel handling units and accessory equipment, and test petroleum products to evaluate the quality used in amphibious assault fuel handling systems.Notable Accomplishments:-From 1998-1999, worked at the White Beach Petroleum Terminal in Okinawa, Japan. Conducted pier side refueling of Naval vessels and bulk petroleum download from tanker vessels. Assisted with the management of fuel deliveries and conducted fuel sampling and gauging of over 3M gallons of petroleum storage capacity.-In 2002, deployed to Thailand in support of exercise Cobra Gold, an annual Thai-U.S. co-sponsored joint and multinational exercise; participating nations include Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, and Malaysia. Was overall responsible for fuel support to all tenant forces aboard Camp Samesan, and conducted daily fuel accountability for MOGAS, totalling over 100,000 gallons for the duration of the exercise.-In 2004, deployed to Iraq in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Assisted in the planning and design of a 1.5M gallon fuel farm which served as the major fuel hub for Marine forces in Al Anbar province. -In conjunction with the unit stand-up, conducted a rewrite of the Detachment mission statement to reflect actual capabilities based on personnel capacity and equipment capability. Conducted a comprehensive equipment review and created the overarching source document for submission to higher headquarters, encompassing (165) categories of principle end items; ultimately effected change in the structure, capacity, and capability of the unit.-Served as the MWSD-24 representative during an operational planning team for Pohakuloa Training Area (PTA) build-up/renovation plans; ensured requirements were established to ensure future employment of MWSD-24 capability sets.-Supervised the planning and execution of (17) exercises in which MWSD-24 provided aviation ground support (AGS) and forward arming and refueling point (FARP) operations, issued over 178,000 gallons of JP-8 to 695 aircraft, traveled more than 43,400 miles with 16.5M pounds of cargo, and provided over 900 hours of MHE support for more than 7.6M pounds of material.-Established and enhanced relationships with higher echelons, supporting and supported units, and reviewed, socialized, and modified standard operating procedures to improve best practices in order to meet the needs of supported squadrons and improve the efficiency of MWSD-24's ability to provide AGS.-Established relationships and conducted joint training with Army fuels units in order to develop joint interoperability in accordance with MarForPac initiatives in the Pacific, increasing MOS awareness and proficiency of both Marines and Soldiers.-Served as the lead officer for AGS on (4) combined arms exercises: RIMPAC 12 and Lava Vipers 13-1, 13-2, and 14-1; integrated and managed personnel from MWSD-24 and sister squadrons while personally supervising the execution of AGS and FARP operations.
