Recent Projects:- Headed, planned, designed, enabled and transitioned customer facing legacy reporting solution to Power BI.- Enterprise reporting high level road-map. Defined Power BI frameworks and methods to support implementation.- Led Proof of Concept to determine if Power BI is appropriate technology for upgrading and enhancing legacy reporting.- On premise to cloud (AWS) Snowflake Data Warehouse migration delivering business agility and reduction of technical overheads.- Migration of various analytics components to cloud (AWS).- Roadmap for simplification and improvement of analytics platform.Certified:- TOGAF 9 Level 2 - Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner- Data Vault Data ModelerHaving spent my formative years at the coal face, I now focus on ensuring implementations not only align to business strategy, but also remain sustainable and flexible, plus can be rolled out incrementally to provide early business value. As a result of alternative use cases and requirement maturity, I understand that information can be presented and consumed in various fashions, hence a "one size fits all" approach inevitably leads to undesirable "cottage industry" solutions. These in turn can result in informational discrepancies across the enterprise, and frequently contribute to an organisation's technical debt.Innovations I have recently conceptualised, subsequently designed and overseen architectural implementation of include a data warehouse repository based on the Data Vault method, an enterprise metadata repository, and a data acquisition pattern providing re-use opportunities during various interim states. I strive to maximise re-use opportunities, thus reduce overall investment in duplicate components across the enterprise via the definition and realisation of architectural and solution building blocks including metadata management, accurate ETL frameworks, extensible data models, SDLC methodologies, scale-able platforms, associated assessment and selection of supporting technologies and road maps.Always watching industry innovations and their related business benefits, I am an active member of the Melbourne TDWI chapter and attend relevant industry conferences.
