I am currently Senior Solutions Architect in EPE - Trusted to Protect, where I look across the full spectrum of threat reduction and risk mitigation in Military and Non Military environments. Providing expertise, capabilities, and training in order to detect, diagnose, mitigate, neutralise, and exploit threats. Previously Director of Emergency Management Te Whatu. Strengthening and maintaining the capability and capacity of the Health system to detect, mitigate, prevent, protect, respond to and recover from natural, human-induced and environmental threats and hazards. Over the last 35 years, my main areas of employment have been in Humanitarian Operations, Bomb Disposal (EOD,IEDD, UXO,ERW), De-mining, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Weapons, Trans-National Crime, Counter-terrorism, Counter-violent extremism, Counter-Proliferation, Counter-WMD, Exploitation, and Intelligence. I have extensive operational experience in the field of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear weapons, and Explosives risk management. I served as an Officer in the British Army, an advisor to the U.S. Government, and an Officer in the New Zealand Defence Force, recently leaving as a Lieutenant Colonel. My focus on saving lives, and restoring normality in areas dangerous areas, often during conflict and in operations in combat. I have extensive experience in intelligence and exploitation operations. I have a wide range of Military experience, most notably, I Commanded the E Sqn (EOD) 1NZSAS Regt (New Zealand National Bomb Disposal capability) for five years - Commanding a National EOD IEDD CBRNE capability, with the responsibility to meet all national and international outputs.I have wde-ranging operational experience having deployed on a large number of complex, multi-national operations all over the world. I have worked with the United Nations, OPCW, Interpol, FBI, Security Services, Law Enforcement, and Militaries. I have served on active duty Military operations in the UK, Germany, Northern Ireland, Central America, Bosnia, Kosovo, Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, Columbia, Nepal, New Zealand, Cambodia and South East Asia. I was awarded the George Medal by the Queen in 2002 for gallantry in UK Bomb Disposal operations, and the Distinguished Service Decoration on the Queen's Birthday Honours in June 2021 for services to Bomb Disposal in New Zealand. I have been recognised by the U.S Department of Defence with U.S. Army Commendation Medal and have three FBI Commendations for services to international exploitation missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
