As CAD Manager, I was responsible for maintaining CAD standards, production processes for the CAD Technicians, and CAD training. I maintained the CAD work stations and ensured smooth operation and troubleshooting of any problems that arose. I trained the CAD technicians in the effective use of Civil 3D and I was responsible for allocating production work to the CAD Technicians. I developed custom applications for production use in enhancing efficiency and productivity while streamlining more difficult, tedious and/or repetitive tasks.This, on top of regular production CAD duties of producing construction plans; which included Erosion Control, Dimension Control, Paving and Striping, Grading, Drainage, Utility and Profile sheets.

My primary role was a Civil CAD Technician, but I had been expanding my circle of skills and knowledge to include the submittal processes of the local municipalities, learning the local ordinances and state regulations. I worked on several projects from large to small, with varying schedules, and had to learn to better manage my time to adjust for each project.

I designed and developed project data and plan sheets for all projects, including site layout and plans, dimension control plans, grading and drainage, water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer plan and profiles and utility plans. I created many Lisp routines and VB.Net plug-ins to streamline many mundane tasks.

I was the only CAD Drafter for a survey and engineering ‘father/son’ company. I was responsible for layout, production and copying of plats, topographic surveys and exhibits. I did field research and pulled documents from various court records for research of properties.
