This is reflected in the management style and culture that exists at HCC.The main areas that I’m responsible for are:• developing and directing the business strategy – in a highly leveraged trading environment this includes evaluation and selection of markets and instruments along with risk assessment and strategies. HCC is ambitious, but in a measured and well-managed way. Successful trading requires discipline, to develop and apply effective strategies, to off-set risks and to set-up the logic for automated trades. I’m keen that we adopt and develop best practice across the business.• cultivating the firm’s reputation in the market – integrity is hugely important to me, and this is engrained in the culture at HCC and goes way beyond compliance with market standards and regulations. Trust is vital in business and is something that is really important to me.• leading and motivating the team – this includes supporting and training traders at different levels, from a light touch approach for experienced successful traders, mentoring experienced traders through tough times, and training and coaching new and novice traders and helping them to develop effective strategies and disciplines for successful day-trading. I have a disciplined and analytical approach to trading with an in-depth knowledge of global markets. This informs the training and mentoring that I provide.
