As the head of the Employment Service department at Middlesex Association for the Blind, a 100 year old charity operating in 9 London boroughs, I was a fluid, first principled and results-driven team player committed to empowering visually impaired individuals in their career journeys. Here's how I made an impact:

- Clear Vision to Employment Course:

Designed and managed a pioneering 6-week face-to-face course, enrolling and supporting 22 candidates in 2023, achieving a 100% completion rate and a 60% job placement rate. This marked a significant improvement from the previous average of 10-12 candidate enrolments YoY before my tenure.

- Blind Visions Podcast:

Led the development and launch of a platform dedicated to sharing inspirational stories and industry insights for the visually impaired community.

- Corporate Visual Impairment Awareness:

Designed and deployed workshops and seminars to increase awareness and understanding of visual impairment issues, leading to improved inclusion and accessibility practices in the workplace.

- Operational Restructuring:

Implemented data collation and KPI tracking systems, providing valuable insights into program effectiveness and enhancing decision-making processes.

- Assistive Technology Expertise:

Leveraged knowledge of assistive technology to provide comprehensive support and training, ensuring visually impaired individuals have the necessary tools and skills to succeed.

- Digital Transformation:

Championed digital initiatives to streamline operations and improve service delivery, driving the adoption of digital tools and continuous improvement models.

In addition to these achievements, I've led marketing efforts, cultivated strategic partnerships, and provided mentorship to candidates, staff, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. I bring a high calibre of skills and qualifications to the table, along with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

CORP-V.I is an acronym for Corporate Visual Impairment. It refers to a specialised training program offered by the Middlesex Association for the Blind (MAB) to raise awareness and foster inclusivity in the corporate world. The program aimed to educate organisations about visual impairment and equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge to create accessible and inclusive work environments.


The CORP-V.I program provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of visual impairment, including its different types, causes, and impact on individuals in the workplace. Through immersive experiences, practical exercises, and real-life insights, participants gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals and learn strategies to promote inclusivity and accommodation.


By participating in CORP-V.I, organisations  enhanced their diversity and inclusion efforts, improved team dynamics, and created a workplace that valued and supported individuals with visual impairments. The program offered a unique opportunity to broaden perspectives, foster empathy, and develop practical skills to ensure that all employees could thrive in their professional roles.


MAB delivered the CORP-V.I program through interactive sessions that could be customised to meet the specific needs of each organisation. The program was available in both in-person and virtual formats, allowing for flexibility and convenience

A weekly phone in podcast with guests and interviews and discussing topics that people are thinking about but perhaps dont know how to articulate very well. We have created a safe space to hold those conversations. some humour, some deep chats, but we aim to change perceptions through conversation. ( on a break )

We talk to business and management practitioners, private/ social/ entrepreneurs and investors who have dared to risk, beleive and think big, with inspiring stories, interviews, and light hearted thoughts on current events.

We aim to deep dive into management science, personal stories and lessons, future tech and advances in Neuropsychology, NLP and solutions to male mental health, the future of our youth and the workplace.

VIP Minds (Vision Inspires Passionate Minds) was a community and advocacy CIC organisation. Founded in 2008 to meets the needs of the community and beyond through the provision of a wide range of activities focusing on education policy, enterprise training, character development, empowering seminars and workshops, support for disadvantaged groups such as the homeless and sufferers of gender based and domestic violence, research and policy work.

Working to re-address inequalities, empower individuals to understand who they are, to think critically, creatively and collaboratively, build character and to value opinions in order that each person can achieve their full potential, via sustainable long-term solutions: Through programmes, projects, research and policy work, enabling people to build emotional and social skills as well as a new found way of acquiring knowledge. VIP Minds helped people realise their potential through simply helping others and being able to have a fair chance at life.

Achievements:


• Rehoused 66 women and children who suffered from domestic violence.

• Overseeing the instigation and negotiation between Ofqual, MCB and APPG for Education, of the UK school exam time change

• Mentored and coached over 100s young people and women with life skills and start up enterprises from EMEA, UK and Asia

• Over 15 full development lifecycle projects.

• Negotiating with external stakeholders and partners, forging alliances with over 20 different organizations

• Developed a network of volunteers from all ages and backgrounds

• Developed advocacy for various local DV initiatives

• Held various public speaking engagements over the years, encompassing 1000s delegates, some being in the House of Commons and Lords as well as other venues

. Establishing long term strategic alliances with various grass root, strategic and community groups, initiating various projects.

I took a break for a few reasons. Mental burn out, to help my wife with our new 2nd child, (2020 update we now have a lockdown born 3rd too), and to allow her to further her career in Opthamology after meternity.

As a business we owned the Master Franchise for Ealing, Harrow and Brent. I was responsible for P&L, Business plan delivery, Marketing, Business development, operations, supply chain, staff recruitment, development and retention, account management and logistics

One Delivery is an online and app ordering delivery service for restaurants, local convenience stores and other food outlets and services who don’t currently offer a delivery service.

Unfortunately I was forced to wind down the business due to fraudulent activity from the franchise company owner, which resulted in losing all our investment, staff and subsequently the business.

Aryzta AG is one of the largest food solutions businesses in the globe, based in Zurich, with operations in the Americas, Europe, UK, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Brands include Otis Spunkmayer, Cookies, Delice de France, La Brea, Shamrock Foods, Tim Hortons, Cuisine de France and Hubert-Coup de Pates, Honeytop Foods, to name a few.

I was seconded to do various projects within the business around; culture change, sales training, departmental change projects, accreditation internal audits,managing trading floors and a departmental mentoring programme

Within the Aryzta Food Solutions UK (AFS), "Business Operations"​ is responsible for the smooth running of all aspects AFS's business processes relating to operations - Transport Logistics and Sales. Broadly my work within the team is divided into three areas:

Business as usual: interacting with AFS London's internal teams to ensure processes relating to all aspects of operations and sales are running smoothly, and are fully documented in procedures.

Business re-engineering: identifying weaknesses in processes (particularly those giving rise to business and operational risk) and working with internal teams across the value chain to implement improved methods and processes - DMAIC & LEAN, TQM. processes were estimated to make a saving of over £1.6m.

Business metrics: monitoring and management reporting of key business measures (loss in revenue compared to returns, failed deliveries, lost calls, team leadership, management processes and procedures, quality, service delivery management (effects on sales ledgers and moral), customer service, sales training).

A start up eComm business distributing and selling Premium Non Alcoholic; wines, Premium Grape Juices and Rose' (unfermented), Fruit flavoured malt drinks made with hops, unfermented beers, Celebration Drinks and Instant Gourmet; Mochas, Lattes, Black Coffees and Green Teas in sachets.

Wound down as i was way to early for the market. Was becoming a money pit.

Wound the business down due to loss of assets through kitchen landlords bankruptcy. The banks would not give me a life line. Hence.

Acted as an independent consultants covering areas: Publishing, print media, food and drink distribution, restaurants, QSRs, QSDs and The Third Sector, around continuous improvement, operations management, T&D, change management, product and brand management, sales, push and pull marketing strategies.

Highest commission ever earned by their own staff was £150 a month.

I took home just shy of £1000. It took a month for me to get my money as the management were verifying all my sales. I had no issue.

i had a simple strategy and went old skool. just a print out list, a pen and a phone.
