Co-founded Swatchbook with Yazan Malkosh. Our vision was to provide a service connecting designers with suppliers, allowing designers to browse, visualize, cost, source, and spec their Color/Material/Finish (CMF) variants in a faster, more cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. The concept was a perfect fit for our combined expertise in industrial design, product visualization, product design, and software development. Together we fleshed out the vision for the core products, began pitching them to potential customers and designing the business model, worked with contractors to design and build the first working version of the AWS server, REST API, and iOS apps, and worked with scanning suppliers to begin building processes for efficient, scalable, high quality material scanning services.Swatchbook was the most fun and rewarding project of my career, and I was gutted when personal circumstances forced me to leave it. I have been delighted to watch Yazan and the incredible team he has built from the sidelines. They are crushing it!

Worked to promote engineering and design by providing news, information, and inspiration. Interviewed dozens of industry leaders for the EngineerVsDesigner podcast, developed high quality video training for cadjunkie.com, and wrote for the popular SolidSmack.com info blog.

Designed things, taught other people to design things, and built tools for designing things.Performed design and design technology consulting services for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries. Clients include: XBox, 3D Robotics, Motionstrand, Remfish, The Foundry and others.

Developed and taught the digital design curriculum for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

Taught modo and Rhino software courses to Hollywood visual effects industry professionals.

Design R&D for divergent future product opportunities. Worked with research scientists and engineers to bring new technologies into physical form.

Designed consumer power tools for production. Conducted field research to identify opportunities and imagine new ways of solving old problems. Was awarded many functional and design patents.

Designed a platform of blade-based thin PC's set three years in the future, and assorted junior industrial design tasks.

Building into the lives of children is one of the greatest joys in life. Worked outdoors, attended "hike master" training, led rock climbing groups, and loved every single day!
