Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society's Board of Directors is a panel of 15 physicians who are committed to advocating for physician's rights while building a stronger, more unified healthcare community in El Dorado, Sacramento and Yolo counties. They actively work with physician members, patient groups, local and state elected officials, and our partners in the California Medical Association to advance our common goals.

California ACEP has an elected 15-19 member Board of Directors that serves 3,000 chapter members through strategic planning, policy making and advocacy on behalf of emergency physicians and California’s patients.

The Board of Trustees has the responsibility for seeing that policy is implemented throughout the year and dealing with many interim policy issues which arise between Annual Meetings. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, receiving and acting on reports and recommendations of Councils and Committees appointed by the House of Delegates, as well as reports of Committees of the Board of Trustees.

The Council on Science and Public Health (CSAPH) works to represent the AMA’s core belief that scientific evidence is the basis for improving the quality of patient care, promoting medical progress and enhancing the health of the public. The council prepares reports on a wide range of public health and medical issues. Council members represent the full spectrum of the medical and public health continuum, bringing diverse expertise to their recommendations to the AMA House of Delegates.

Edit, provide guidance, recruit authors, and write regularly for SSV Medicine, the official bi-monthly journal of the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society (SSVMS).

Advise the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors on pertinent issues and programs designed to protect the health and well-being of all Sacramentans.
