In August 2014, I made the decision to volunteer on an international project in a rural region of Argentina. The goal was to lay the groundwork for an orphanage and school that would service several surrounding communities as well as immigrant children. My role was to teach English in the local schools, develop a positive reputation within the community for foreigners, and assist a local Korean immigrant community. Shortly upon arrival, the larger project was called off, but I decided to stay because there was still a need for my skills. While working in Argentina, I served mainly as;1) English teacher for Argentinian students2) Liaison between the Korean and Argentinian communities3) Translator, tutor, and mentor for Korean children4) Developer of a Korean settlement and farmFor one semester, I served as a teacher at the Centro de Municipalidad de Lamarque. I co-taught beginner, intermediate, and advanced English to local students ranging from ages 8 to 65. Together, we developed all of the lesson plans and materials for use in the classes. In exchange for teaching, we secured introductory Spanish classes for the Korean community. The second half of my stay in Argentina was spent primarily integrating the Korean children into the local high school. I helped enroll the children into school, gathered essential documents, and set up their class schedules. The school requested we attend class with the children as guides and translators. We went to class everyday with the children for a quarter until the students, families, and school were comfortable allowing the children to attend on their own.Throughout my stay in Argentina, I also managed the development of a local farm and making it self-sustainable. I assisted in the construction of 7 homes for underprivileged families and worked exhaustively clearing trees and thorns for the future sale of fruit and nuts. Before leaving, we sold our first batch of fruit and nuts making the farm over $10,000 USD.

The Colts in Motion interactive museum is the centerpiece of the Indianapolis Colts grassroots marketing effort.Friday Night Football TourThe Friday Night Football Tour is an Indianapolis Colts initiative to give back to local football programs. The tour included an event at 15 marquee high school football match-ups around the state of Indiana. The Friday Night Football Tour donated $15,000 to local football and cheerleading programs.Women's ClinicsThe Indianapolis Colts Women's Clinics are a way to help women become more knowledgeable about the game of football. The Women's Clinics include current players, alumni players, officials, and Colts staff. Women that attend the camp receive hands on experience through on field drills as well as unique insights through classroom sessions.

Los Angeles Urban Project gives students a real-life experience of living out their values by sending them to partner with community-based organizations that address the social issues of the city. Students live among the poor, go to church in urban communities, and are on a fixed-income comparable to the residents in their neighborhoods. In the midst of this experience, students receive teaching from a Christian perspective on the biblical values of service, justice, and compassion, as well as receiving regular training in leadership, teamwork, and decision-making. This combination of hands-on experience and training equips students to use their careers to combat the social, economic, and spiritual challenges of our world.
