A recent thought: “iNFrastrUcture: there is fun in infrastructure, you just have to find it.” On the thought of components… I am informed that in Rome, human beings were commonly thought of/spoken of as “parts” to the “city.” I think humans are never parts, per se. Being a member of a team is different than being a part of a machine. One distinction could be that each member has the whole team’s concept in mind, and could in theory, in a light way, do every function of the team, even if specialized. My career interests include: entrepreneurship, resourcefulness, industriousness, virtue ethics, and integration of disciplines. Recently, I formed an LLC in Texas called Pensive Place with a DBA identity called I Love Software. I bought both .com domains for public use of my software as I make them available.I am deeply impressed by the way that Socrates, in Plato’s Republic, asks the question: “what is justice like in a person?” I am finding that the spiritual answer to his question is what happens when agape (Gk. “love”) is active in a person’s heart, for one who is spiritually alive, who lives as Jesus does: “I do as I see my Father in Heaven doing…” A favorite quote from Republic on justice:(Socrates) “Therefore, Thrasymachus, it is plain by now that no art or kind of rule provides for its own benefit, but, as we have been saying all along, it provides for and commands the one who is ruled, considering his advantage— that of the weaker— and not that of the stronger” (Plato, Republic, Book 1).Paul, on justice and faith:“…the righteousness of God has been [demonstrated] apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus…” (Romans 3:21-26) “For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has [given to him].” (Romans 12:4)
