I also have expertise in sense/control/log systems based around micro-controllers.Types of work sought range among: collaborative projects with academics looking to bridge from theory into practice in respect of the application of data science; both small- and large- scale problems; one-off analysis and development of repeatable processes and production systems.In all cases, I have as my "acid test" that the aims of the work should have social value.

The role involved the design and implementation of a data science pipeline and data scientist/analyst exploration and implementation toolkit. The context of this work was largely the post-compulsory education sector - learning analytics and admissions process support - but has also involved smaller forays into school inspection and social media usage support.I've worked extensively in Python, using a range of the well-known packages for supervised and unsupervised learning and NLP... and the usual mix of associated technologies, including Azure, Oracle, etc.

The Board - chaired by the Government's Chief Technology Officer - will concentrate on making sure that government’s open standards meet users’ needs and achieve a level playing field for open source and proprietary software.
