Developed a suite of advanced web based tools, which constantly monitor and report on the performance of 25 GSM and UMTS networks and 9 broadband networks, across 28 countries. Vendor-independent KPIs covering Ericsson, Nortel, Nokia-Seimens, Alcatel, Alvarion, Sonus and Metaswitch. The tools include: • Executive reports• Auditor reports• Fraud detection• Customer satisfaction ratings• Marketing guidance • Advanced real-time network performance reporting• Multiple technology root cause analysis• Customer calling pattern and handset analysis. During development I defined a wide range of performance KPI, analysis techniques and managed the design and installation of multiple hardware platforms. Developing these tools has enabled me to create good relationships with senior management and engineers in many of the business units as well as giving me the freedom to innovate.

Fastwire is an Australian systems integration company who specialise in designing and integrating customised network management systems for network operators. I worked as technical lead on the multi-million dollar integration of a consolidated fault management system for Vodafone Australia and New Zealand. This project has involved • Project management and technical discussion with the client and senior management.• Troubleshooting under pressure • In-depth knowledge of network management tools (especially Netcool)• Perl and Unix scripting to a commercial production level• Database design in both Oracle and SQL Server• Full design cycle documentation and testing• Analysis of all areas of an IP and Telecoms network including 3G, DSL and VOIPFastwire acquired a Business Sponsorship Visa for me after I had been there 3 months.

To allow wider understanding of the mobile network and its performance across the company I developed a suite of web based optimisation and reporting tools for the GSM and UMTS network. This application had over 1000 subscribers and received 100,000 hits per month; The development of this system required • Design, construction and management of Oracle and SQL server databases.• Fast Unix based data processing systems using AWK• Design and construction of dynamic WebPages using ASP, VB, JavaScript• Strong knowledge of multiple aspects of both GSM and UMTS technologies • Development of support, automation and recovery systems.• GSM and UMTS Performance and root cause analysis.
