Through the opening of the Pack Positive Center in Leeds, Coveris are now able to prototype multi-substrate packaging solutions as we work towards delivering a circular economy for packaging.

Key Accountabilities:• Drive structural packaging innovation opportunities for Coles Brand Core NPD and Coles Brand Innovation NPD. • Develop & generate bespoke structural packaging solutions for innovation streams new to market that excite the customer and provide a point of difference. Packaging solutions such as portion control, convenience and easy to open.• Liaise with packaging suppliers to understand new packaging trends and to identify opportunities across different categories and improvements in quality, convenience, performance, sustainability and cost.• Developing packaging solutions that are exclusive to Coles, generate intellectual property and build brand equity.• Identify process improvements within the Design & Packaging team and implement solutions that generate efficiencies and cost savings.• Develop packaging guidelines and shelf friendly packaging style guides that support the new innovation streams.• Provide technical expertise on primary and secondary packaging (including Shelf friendly packaging) to developers, technologists and category managers to ensure packaging is fit for purpose and meets quality expectations.• Provide guidance on the legislation/regulations on packaging and ensure new products are not over-packaged in line with our commitments to the Australian Packaging Covenant.
