Lab manager for aquatic ecology / biochemistry lab. Involved in all aspects of lab including: field work, bench laboratory analysis, managing grants and personnel, hiring of research staff, ordering and maintaining supplies / shared spaces, and equipment maintenance. I also have led a low cost sensor project that involved the designing, programing and building of Arduino biased in-situ aquatic sensors.

Lab manager of Weaver 135: an aquatics research lab used by 3 PI’s (Principal Investigators). Assisted each of the PI’s in a variety of projects and roles including: field support, project planning, laboratory analysis, laboratory organization and maintenance as well as help with both graduate and undergraduate projects.

Research Assistant for mountain stream ecology lab studying the Eastern Hellbender salamander. Worked on a variety of projects / tasks including: mountain stream in-situ chemistry sampling and analysis, leading hellbender egg rearing system / project, development of turbidity sensor using Arduino, developing handheld hydrophone monitoring system, lab maintenance, and participating / leading a variety of field work in cold-water mountain stream systems.

Created course materials (exams, homework, projects, seminar slides, etc.), graded, and taught in a variety of different subject matters. In all courses I assited with, I was principal lecturer for at least one week of the semester. Some of the courses I assited with: Biogeochemical cycles, Environmental Problem Solving, Marine Science 101 and Inro to Environmental Science.

Led and assisted in a variety of marine science projects including: monitoring and development of oxygen model for Florida bay basins, measurement of deep water biogeochemical cycles in the Gulf of Mexico, measurement and monitoring of season oxygen, temperature, salinity and nitrogen cycles in a tidal black water river (White Oak River), and measurement of methanogenesis in deep water off the coast of Oregon USA. Conducted extensive time series analysis of both physical oceanographic and biogeochemical data throughout all projects I was involved with. Maintained all in-situ sensor systems not limited to: DO, salinity, temperature, turbidity, ADCP, and fluorescence.

Conducted independent and group research on phytoplankton nutrient cycling in the Neuse River system.
