Strategic Planner, Complex Problem Solver and Team Builder

Responsible for leading and coordinating the deliberate plans development and review for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Chairman's lead for war plan analysis including concept feasibility, associated risk, and timely transition from steady state to contingency. Lead the Chairman's Globally Integrated Readiness Reviews focused on integrating all operations across Combatant Commands and setting priorities for campaigning globally while responding to a contingency.

Serve as the primary advisor to the J5 Director on all policy, strategy, and planning matters pertaining to the J5. Synchronize the efforts of the six divisions within the directorate to ensure the demanding policy, strategy, and planning requirements are met across the USPACOM AOR. Serve as the senior military supervisor responsible for directing the efforts of the J5 Directorate staff. Oversee the Executive Assistants for four J5 Flag Officers/General Officers to ensure all required J5 key leader engagements are appropriately coordinated. Work with the USPACOM Commander's Action Group to ensure the USPACOM Commander's strategic level engagements are organized to support the Theater Strategy. Set conditions across the Command to support the USPACOM Commander's Theater Strategy. Coordinate across the USPACOM staff to ensure closely harmonized staff recommendations are provided to the PACOM Commander. Develop a J5 battle rhythm that is nested with the USPACOM's staff battle rhythm. Review, and as necessary edit all J5 products to ensure their accuracy and quality.

Lead for the review, development, and maintenance of the U.S. Pacific Command Strategy and the Theater Campaign Plan. Analyze and Incorporate national level guidance and policy into the U.S. Pacific Command's approach to security challenges in the area of responsibility, represent the command in multiple Department of Defense fora, and support development of national strategies and guidance for the Pacific Region. Manage multi-service and civilian planning teams in support of the USPACOM mission.

Develop the U.S. Africa Command Theater Strategy, Command Annual Strategic Guidance, Analyze U.S. National Security Policy and implications for U.S. Africa Command, Manage Joint Planning Teams for the development of Regional and Sub-Regional Campaign Plans for Africa, Managed Responses to U.S. Congressional Questions for Record, Assist in the development of Theater Posture recommendations and Commander Congressional testimony.

Lead the development of African Sub-Regional Campaign Plans, Support Contingency Planning efforts for U.S. Africa Command, Policy Analysis and implementation, Concept Development and Project Management.

Managed multiple, cross discipline planning efforts, Developed the U.S. Army Africa Transition Plan, Oversaw the development of multiple contingency planning efforts, Developed and proposed security cooperation program and exercise program concepts to improve military relationships on the African Continent.

Served as an action officer and strategist for the Commander's Action Group (CAG). Responsible for preparing and staffing various actions directly for the commander's use with NATO, ISAF, the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, the Deputies Committe for the National Security Council, and various members of governments that supported the NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan. Also served as the primary action officer in the CAG for tracking the command's progress in developing the Afghan National Police force and the institutions that support it.

Served as the primary advisor to the U.S. Defense Representative (USDR) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Assessed the organization and it's personnel's vulnerability to terrorist attacks, recommended mitigation measures, and analyzed threat reporting to provide the USDR recommendations for random anti-terroism measures. Coordinated movement and travel for distinguished visitors throughout Saudi Arabia, through the Saudi Ministry of Defense and Aviation, the Saudi Arabian National Guard, and the Regional Security Office of the U.S. Embassy, Riyadh.

Served as an Infantry Officer in a variety of positions to include Platoon Leader, Rifle Company Executive Officer (2 times), Brigade Assistant Operations Officer, Battalion Logistics Officer, and Infantry Company Commander (2 times).
