I took on a completely different challenge and joined a product division focusing on Content Aggregation of Media, Television, and Movies. Vubiquity wanted to carefully transform their monolithic core applications and business processes into cloud-based microservices with an end to end event based architecture.As a Core API team lead, we developed two domain areas - Configuration and Media Asset Management. I joined a team developing a Policy and Charging Rules Function product written in Java and C++. This specialized piece of software managed subscriber billing and charging policies based on a combination of 3GPP and IETF industry standards. I also became an expert in a 3rdparty Diameter routing solution integrated with the product. As an expert in the diameter routing product I achieved increased visibility with customer deployments, internal knowledge sharing and training, and solving critical end to end issues both internally and externally.While on the development team I created an automation framework with a netty.io Diameter stack that I created from scratch. The design of the tool made it easy to use by design, verification, demo, and support teams. Demonstrated virtualized networks of 12 network nodes for e2e development, testing, and product demonstrations with Virtualbox on a single local system leveraging the automated tool that I created.
