I'm thrilled to have created and taught "Additive Manufacturing" in SLU's Mechanical Engineering department to 23 sharp engineering students. It was designed as a 3 credit class for graduate students eager to dive deep into the cutting-edge world of 3D printing technologies and it's applications in engineering and product development. The class explored the 7 main modalities of additive manufacturing, software tools, 3D Scanning, QC systems, and the economics of prototyping and manufacturing in a hands on class. Each student designed and printed the parts of a self chosen project through weekly iterations with direct access to a set of Bambu Labs printers. Grateful to the professional's I invited to come in/video call each week and share their AM projects and industry perspectives, as well as the three St Louis businesses that hosted our field trips to see how they use Additive every day!Also, very grateful to the Nicole and Robert at SLU's Reinert Center for their guidance in structuring the class and coming in to gather the unbiased feedback that made the second half of the class really smooth!

Purchased, renovated ($90k project), lived in and managed a 4-plex in South Minneapolis.Formed a partnership to fund the purchase of a small office/industrial building (along with a separate business acquisition). Remodeled and attempted offering the office as a coworking space, this failed so we pivoted to a furnished office rental.Both properties are exited now with great new owners and profitable outcomes for all investors.

-Consulted on CNC, laser cutting, additive manufacturing, and dye-sublimation manufacturing process development for NE Minneapolis manufacturing start-up-Developed a wood backpack from concept through prototyping-Consulted on product design and development for a number of entrepreneurs.-Coached early stage entrepreneurs on business development

The focus of O3X was to improve processes for medical organizations. -I consulted in LEAN and Six Sigma process improvement projects-Led the development of our business structure-Facilitated the realization of founders needs-Invested seed capitalAmong many projects at Mary Greely Medical Center we worked to increase Medicaid compliance for outpatient services. Our group lead cross-functional team meetings, conducted root cause analysis, facilitated Lean and Kaizen events, and documented processes and requirements that ultimately improved the Medicaid compliance by 20%.

-Managed $35.8 million dollar spend. -Responsible for bearings, CNC and screw machined parts, stampings, plastic injection moldings, gaskets, water pumps, oil pumps, spark plugs, springs, plastic gears and other misc. powertrain parts.-Worked with over 110 existing or potential suppliers in the US, Mexico, Asia and Europe.-Visited suppliers in the US and Mexico.-Comprehensive analysis and redesign of Polaris' Bearing strategy and spend. Interviewed design engineers, quality engineers, and buyers. Quoted, negotiated and aligned all bearing suppliers with our strategy.-Wrote the Polaris wide chemical resistivity specification after researching industry standards, observing current work processes, and interviewing internal stakeholders.-Saved ~$300k in negotiated cost downs.-Prevented or mitigated over 10 potential line-downs.-Project management was the clear focus of this position due to the dozens of parts being quoted, designed, prototyped, manufactured and delivered at any given time.

-Precision CNC fixture design, fabrication, and testing.-3D CAD modeling in Solidworks and Rapidform.-3D Scanning with NextGen Laser scanner.-CNC tool pathing with MasterCAM.-Fixturing and Machining bone fragments from bone stock with a Haas Minimill automated CNC machine (currently our bone stock is Tibia shaped sawbone--fake bone).-Running Stratysis and UPrint 3D printers.The purpose of our research was to machine custom bone implants before surgery based on scans of severe bone breaks.

-Build Team Leader for the student club AirISU. Our project was to build a fully functional two seat Zodiac XL airplane. My main accomplishments were to raise energy and productivity at our biweekly work sessions and create a greater sense of community and club loyalty.-Student Coordinator for the new ISU Engineering Department Leadership Certificate Program.-Vice President of Engineers for a Sustainable World.

I manufactured 100's of high quality ABS and PLA samples for tensile weld strength testing in a research project. All of the samples were produced on a 3D printer that I built.

-Identified areas of improvement and implemented solutions with mechanical fixtures, materials handling & flow, floor layouts, workstation organization, blueprints and quality control.-$100,000 in measurable labor and warehouse space savings, which was realized over 18 months.

-Sourced and sold thousands of shawls and silk scarves from India and Thailand.-Hired and managed a total of 11 wholesale and retail employees, and managed suppliers.

-Met with numerous government agencies regarding business incentives and compliance with environmental laws.-Successfully represented the company through two audits.-Communicated with real estate agents, investors, employees and contractors.-Served as bookkeeper for the development.-Facilitated the fair payment of kitchen and grounds staff.

-Experienced in all areas of the business: initial design, bid, construction, and installation.-Designed and constructed kitchens, tables, bookcases, home theaters, solid wood and plywood cabinets, as well as a 20' x 24' cabin with my father, who is a professional woodworker. -Experienced with the safe operation of the range of power and hand tools used in woodworking. I also gained experience with welding and metalwork in a welding shop and motorpool.
