Served as the principal advisor to the Regimental Commander regarding the health and welfare of his command. Oversaw the planning and coordination of medical support for all ceremonial and tactical missions performed by the Regiment, including National Memorial and Veteran’s Day Observances in Arlington National Cemetery, Presidential Inaugurations, and the Army Ten Miler. Directly supervised 2 physician assistants, 1 physical therapist, 1 medical planner, and 44 medics. Served as the officer in charge of the Regimental Aid Station, providing world-class healthcare to over 1500 Soldiers.

Provided patient-centered, comprehensive ambulatory care including emergent, acute, routine, and wellness care in the Primary Care Clinic. Served as assistant chief of Family Medicine, overseeing more than 115 medical providers, nurses, and support staff, and Gold Home Team Leader. Successfully led the NCQA recertification of the clinic as a Patient Centered Medical Home. Served as a voting member of the credentials committee. Formed and chaired the Transgender Care Team and the HIV Prevention Clinic.

Responsible for a panel of 650 patients in the Fort Leonard Wood Patient Centered Medical Home, providing acute and routine care, preventative services, obstetrical care, and outpatient procedures. Approximately one-fourth of work hours were devoted to inpatient care, serving as adult, pediatric, and OB hospitalist in a 65-bed hospital including a Medical/Surgical Ward, ICU, Mother/Baby Unit, and Psych Ward. Accepted the additional responsibility in 2013 as GLWACH’s Clinical Champion for MAPS Program (MEDCOM AHLTA Provider Satisfaction), the Essentris Standardization Committee, and the WRMC Telehealth Initiative. This led to improved userability, consistency of documentation, and expansion of services. Also served on the Data Quality Committee to improve policies and procedures.

Provided comprehensive outpatient and hospital care to a panel of 425 patients including medical, pediatric, obstetrical, and neonatal services. Served as the residency information technology expert and personally led the development and implementation of the residency’s electronic evaluation system. Created the residency’s intranet/extranet sites and designed multiple inpatient sign-out databases to improve staff communication and track data over time.
