Co-founder for Keen - Area 120 project for recommendation systems that help people spend more time on what they love. Co-led research effort and created a free ML classification API to enable quality online conversations at scale (https://perspectiveapi.com/). Developed product from 0-1 by collaborating with fundamental researchers, creating API product strategy, securing first user (NYTimes), and scaling usage to >1B comments scored per day. Growth continues today including scaled usage by internal and external clients including most major comment platforms and major generative AI language systems.

Created and launched Project Shield, a program to offer free DDoS protection for independent news, human rights and elections-related websites (https://projectshield.withgoogle.com/). Brought idea from white board, to first user (Ukranian Newspaper), and to scaled usage in over one hundred countries worldwide.

Created product proposals for new methods of reducing online censorshipListed inventor on patent for near share protocols to enable censorship resilient communications. Launched public real time visualizations of all DDoS attacks happening in the world, and global news consumption.

I was an early employee at Polaris Project where I designed and deployed IT systems to combat organized criminal networks engaged in human trafficking–improving information flows between thousands of victims, service providers, and law enforcement officers.

Designed and taught interactive curriculum for courses on science and hovercraft building for 3rd-5th grade students.
