Projects included data recovery, operating system maintenance, software upgrades, backups, network setup, wireless networking, diagnosing software and hardware issues, hardware repair for Apple computers, iPhones and iPods. Developed custom FileMaker databases.Rewrote an existing custom FileMaker database application for a courier service. Analyzed existing code to look for opportunities to refactor into more modern design patterns to allow for future scalability, and optimize for performance. Created a sophisticated system to allow for storing custom rates and service zone tables for any customer. This allowed dispatchers to create an order that could be rated immediately by entering a pickup/deliver address and a service name. Previously, orders were rated by hand by looking up zones and rates on paper. This was a time consuming and complex process that was frequently done incorrectly causing the company to invoice less than they should have. The solution I created ensured that the company always gets paid the correct amount for every job.

Analyzed existing systems and workflows in order to help define business logic.Responsible for designing and programming a custom database application, using filemaker pro, for a high volume mail order company with close to a million customers. I Created an algorithm that allowed the owner to generate a mailing list from a customer database with just a few clicks. This process used to be done by hand every 2 months, and it would take close to a week to compile the mailing list manually. The full system included purchase orders, inventory management, order/invoice creation, credit card payment processing, customers, mailing lists, and several custom reports on the data.
