As a Transportation Electrification Project Manager I was responsible for the review of customer applications; assessment of further program participation; oversight of design and engineering functions; coordinating engineers and agencies on construction permits and easements; leading contractors towards successful builds... all while keeping customer expectations managed and their experiences best of class. Even from inside the electric utility, projects like these are incredibly complex and involve an entire army of stakeholders. But the work is important because electrifying transportation is going to result in cleaner air for you and I to breathe.

As the manager of the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Specialist team at Southern California Edison (SCE), I have the privilege of serving a diverse team of highly-motivated, technically-minded account managers in the pursuit of uncovering, developing, and closing energy efficiency opportunities; scoping and qualifying transportation electrification opportunities; and educating and consulting with customers on distributed generation technologies through providing guidance on proposals received. My ideal day involves continually improving myself while helping others grow and improve as professionals and people. In addition to my responsibilities leading this fantastic team, serve as an Ethics Ambassador for our Division - helping to review and provide feedback on important company policies while communicating on them to Division staff. We are focused on supporting employees in their integrating our corporate values (Safety, Continuous Improvement, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence) into their daily lives.

As the manager of the Integrated Demand Side Management (IDSM) Specialist team at Southern California Edison (SCE), I have the privilege of serving a diverse team of highly-motivated, technically-minded account managers and coordinators in the pursuit of closing integrated demand side management projects with many of SCE's nearly 300,000 small business customers. My ideal day involves continually improving myself while helping others grow and improve as professionals and people. In addition to my responsibilities leading this fantastic team, I volunteer as the Managing Sponsor for our division's safety and employee contributions teams. Our safety team is currently working towards eradicating repetitive motion injuries through improving the safety culture inside and outside of the division. Our employee contributions (ECON) team is currently working towards fostering a culture of giving within our division to benefit several charities with which we associate.

As a manager of Field Engineering at Southern California Edison I was responsible for ensuring that the engineers on my team have the tools, knowledge, and motivation to be the best that they can be at helping our customers identify and implement energy efficiency and demand response solutions at their facilities and businesses.This position also offered me a unique opportunity to lead others with advanced skills who were, individually, members of several different generations.

As an energy efficiency engineer, I was responsible for appropriately recommending energy conservation measures to customers, calculating energy savings, and maintaining an excellent working knowledge of the latest trends in energy efficiency and sustainable design.Customers often wonder why the power company would want to help its customers SAVE power. Simply put, while the local population is expected to increase in the foreseeable future while the utility's generating and infrastructure capacities are not, it is in everyone's best interest to conserve for a better tomorrow.

I was responsible for the planning and design of HVAC&R systems, chilled and hot water generation and distribution systems, compressed air, and building plumbing systems based upon working knowledge of local building and mechanical codes and ASHRAE guidelines. I also directly interacted with and developed clients, developed marketing materials, wrote project proposals and estimated budget cost, and managed complex engineering projects involving many key stakeholders.

I was responsible for the planning and design of HVAC&R systems for educational, institutional, religious, and private organizations base upon an excellent working knowledge of building load simulation and energy analysis software and local building and mechanical codes.I was also responsible for direct client interaction, marketing, project proposal writing, and project management (including billing, forecasted billing, and customer satisfaction).As an Associate with the company I was also required to lead, mentor, and develop other engineering and design staff. This also included management activities such as coaching, performance reviews, and job actions.
