When I was young, my mom told me I could do anything and I believed her -- so she deserves credit for all that has transpired :) I suppose she is also responsible (genetics?) for what has turned out to be my super-power, that of being a natural short-sleeper (see ADRB1)...the results of which will soon become obvious. My first love, other than a crush on the girl next door, was computers. I taught myself to program and started my first company when I was 12. By the time I was 18, I had a number of national clients and was writing applications for large corporations, including the Post Dispatch, IBM, Bissinger's Candy, 1928 Jewelry, and Barnes Hospital. In college, I continued to develop applications, including accounts receivable/payable, inventory control, and statistical modeling. Then, in medical school, I wrote a 3D hand animation program which won national awards. During that time, I created the first CME (continuing medical education) course to teach doctors how to use computers in medicine - this was sponsored by Apple Computer and ran over 2 days at their St. Louis headquarters.1996 - I created the first multi-media program to teach wound care, knot typing & suturing. This was done with a grant from Johnson & Johnson, among others. The program has been used throughout the country to teach surgical skills to nurses, surgical techs, and medical students.1999 - I founded MediGroup® to help drive efficiencies in medical practices. This has become one of the largest group purchasing organizations in the country - our customers purchase billions in medical supplies annually through our contracts.2002 - I perfected & marketed the first one-hour facelift procedure with long lasting results. I also began offering non-surgical (liquid) facelift procedures.2006 - I founded Patient Approved® to help medical practices deliver the best possible patient care. We are ranked by Modern Healthcare Magazine as one of the top patient satisfaction firms in the country. The Patient Approved® platform provides automated marketing and helps connect patients with the most trusted doctors and healthcare providers in their region. We wrote some of the first API's for EMR's.Since that time, I've been involved in a number of other projects including building automated video creation tools, loyalty programs, Web3 applications, and a fintech platform. I am launching a surgery center DAO and provide charitable services through a 501(c)(3) foundation.I seem to have run out of room. For more, please see my personal page at http://doctorsummers.com
