After obtaining his MBA from the Wharton School, Adam Victor began working in Saudi Arabia as a drilling engineer and then in southern Africa as a metallurgy engineer. Becoming inspired by green energy, Adam Victor formed Gas Alternative Systems, Inc. in 1981, where he sought to develop a clean, economical electric and steam infrastructure. GAS negotiated a 40 power purchase agreement with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation valued in excess of $600 million as well as a 40 year steam sales agreement to sell steam to 3 hospitals, 2 Universities and Public Housing authority totaling in excess of $150 million and a 20 year contract with Tennessee Gas Pipelines for $70 million, a natural gas reserve purchase from Norman of Toronto Canada for $94 million and a $63 Million Contract with Century Contractors,a subsidiary of Iowa Electric company and a 9.3 mile dedicated natural gas pipeline by-pass for $7 million with O'Brien and Gere Engineers and a $12.5 million PILOT with the City, a $2 million Scholarship fund for the benefit of the minority majority local public Housing Authority and a $60 million contract with General Electric for serving the facility for nearly 20 years. Later GAS negotiated a $66 Million Bond Offering with Donaldson Lunfin and Jenrette to buy full control of the Project from General Electric Capital, MetLife Capital and Union Pacific Railroad capital. GAS received $205 mm in funding from ABN Ambro and then $29 million from Century Contractors West and Stewart and Stevenson. Later the facility sold the remainder of its NYISO Power SWAP Contract and gas supply for $194 million. Adam Victor's Project continued to receive another $400 million in Revenues from the NYISO before selling its power plant to Rubicalis of Columbia for $14 million.
