My vision was to be the 'Goldman Sachs' of the mortgage industry:Professional, audacious, high-end, and results-oriented. I created a marketing plan that was grounded in establishing strategic relationships with real estate developers across the U.S. and to sell their inventory via our in-house seminar venue. Within one year we were closing over 100 units per month. My team and I funded over a billion before there was a sell off in the secondary market causing 'Mortgage-backed' securities to crash on Wall Street sending big investors like Lehman, Goldman, and Countrywide running for the hills. With an overnight freeze in real estate lending causing the market to crash in 2007-2008, my firm quickly followed. Many lessons learned, should probably write a book.
