In my current role i have the following responsibilities;- Managing a small team to make sure jobs are released on time both here and in Europe so they meet expected service levels.- Keeping a close eye on quality that my team outputs and over-seeing their work.- Informing managers of any changes within the department that may impact the wider company across Europe.- Improving workflows to improve productivity within the department.

As Senior Artwork Technician at Sony DADC, I am responsible for setting the foundation for successful print production. At Desktop publishing stage I ensure that the proper format, appearance, and layout of text and images is set before the full print run for booklets, inlays, DVD & CD labels, and special packaging is completed.I have experience of working with many high profile clients including Sony Music, Universal Music, Ministry of Sound, Arrow Video and Eureka. I have worked with these clients for many years and am able to anticipate and understand their needs and requirements to support their branding, often fixing and resolving print issues in advance so I am able to save them time and money. Each client is uniquely individual and it is my responsibility to get to know and understand their products so that I can better translate their vision to a finished product. I take great pride in working on each project from beginning to completion and rely heavily on my keen eye for detail and high standards.Over the years I have also developed excellent relationships with external printers and suppliers to Sony, often dealing with them on a daily basis to resolve or troubleshoot any potential problems.An average day for me includes:- Indepth knowledge of colour management, checking printed packaging matches ISO 12647-2 including proofing, checking the dE of the physical parts and ensuring Pantones match under D50 lighting.- Working meticulously through a workflow often with tight deadlines and high expectations.- Speaking to customers and printers to increase the perfection of their product upon receipt.- Writing and responding to emails from colleagues, clients and suppliers within a timely manner and with detailed yet clear instructions or explanations.

The role I am currently in requires me to design inhouse newsletters and other important documents such as posters, flyers etc.I Pre-flight clients files ready for production and amend any issues or problems that may arise in manufacturing.On occasion I design labels, paper parts from scratch for clients using my knowledge of Indesign, Photoshop, Acrobat pitstop, and Illustrator. More recently I have worked closely with special packaging and have a keen eye for detail on the final products making sure they meet clients expectations. This included;- Processing clients artwork; including, pre-flighting, adding artwork to printers templates, and fixing any faults ready for print production using a variety of applications including Adobe Acrobat and Pitstop.- Organising client files in a manner that's easy to archive and re-edit if needed.- Releasing CD, DVD & Blu Ray titles into production, working to a tight deadline meeting customers expectations.- Running and maintaining a SCREEN film processor machine to aide the print department and sending files to Etchers for the Litho printing machine.- Designing the monthly site newsletter, (Using my photography skills, news from around the plant and future investment) Yearly Christmas cards, and party invites.

Running mould injection machines, making CD's and DVD's. This included;- Running multiple heavy duty Singulas machinery to manufacture CD and DVD's.- Working as a team to make sure all machines are running to a productive yield.- Keeping to a rigid workload and manufacturing quantity.- Learning key process engineering skills to help improve yields.- A Sharp eye for detail to make sure the quality of the discs were kept and scrap kept to a minimum.- QA tests carried out to ensure the playability of the discs is of the highest quality. - Back up for team leaders to help with the management and smooth running of the shift.
