I am currently a student at Humber College, enrolled in the Sports Management Program. Sport & fitness are among the most influential aspects of who I am. Be it for entertainment, physical health or a social setting, sport & fitness have played a strong role in shaping the person I am. I began playing hockey at the age of 5 & have been playing hockey ever since. From there I began to fall in love with all aspects of sport & physical health. From hockey & football to fitness & weight training. My goal now is to incorporate my passions into my professional life. Sport has given me the fundamental traits needed to succeed in the business world. Sport has helped me gain the work ethic, drive & leadership skills that employers look for in a candidate. My leadership qualities allow me to take control of a room & to help lead others to success. Through strong communication, understanding, listening & detailed goal setting, I have developed myself into what I believe, & what my peers would say about me, is a strong, resourceful, & empathetic leader within my community. I take pride in demonstrating my core values through my personal & business relationships, which include empathy, compassion, kindness, leadership, & personal growth. Passions of mine within sport include coaching, counselling, & mentorship for others. My mission is to find a position where I am able to help others achieve their goals within the spectrum of sport & fitness. My vision for myself is to cement a legacy where I am a pillar in the sport industry & can be a leader for those who need guidance. The steps that I have taken to attain my goals, vision & mission is enrolling in an advanced diploma program in Sports Management at Humber College. My goal is to learn the technical knowledge needed to advance my career in sport as well as learn some of the theories needed within the industry. I have also begun taking on volunteer & part-time work opportunities to help develop my network & to continue building on both myself, as well as my resume. As I begin to gain experience in the industry, paired with my existing professional qualities, I hope to find a career opportunity where I can work alongside like-minded individuals, continue to grow as a business professional as well as be a leader within an organization.
