Oversees the development and execution of all strategic communications activity, including media relations and marketing, to support federal and state policy advocacy campaigns for market-transforming regulation and legislation. Primary responsibilities:- Serves as a primary point of contact for news media to access our organization’s expertise, and oversees the organization’s daily press outreach and managing press contacts.- Works closely with the organization's executive team to develop organizational communications and strategy, and works with the organization’s programmatic and regional leaders to develop and implement communications plans for issue campaigns featuring tactics such as paid digital advertising, prepared statements for press, op-ed writing and placement, and talking points.- Manages communications staff; provides guidance to organization’s policy staff on best practices and winning tactics. - Oversees content development and execution for the organization’s owned media channels, including blog, webinars, video production, website content, newsletters, and social media.

MEDIA RELATIONS -- Successfully placed CR expert analysis and research findings in the nation’s largest and most prestigious news outlets, leading to CR energy and sustainability experts quoted and cited hundreds of times, including by the New York Times, Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, L.A. Times, NBC News, and NPR. -- Positioned our team's work as the go-to source for fact-checking the administration's claims about cost to consumers for the White House's largest environmental rollback -- OpEds written and placed for CR experts for national and local publications. -- Write and release press/media statements; manage press lists; track earned media coverage; media pitching; develops talking points for colleagues; media training for colleagues; build and maintain professional relationships with news reporters.ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE: -- Leads development of nationally-representative surveys and survey reports -- Writing and coordinating social media output about CR’s sustainability advocacy -- Write and develop policy fact sheets -- Commissions Spanish-language translation for CR sustainability materials -- Assists with funder proposals and reports and grant budget management -- Video script writing and production; newsletter writing; blog writing
