Current✅ While acting as Streaming Video Consultant, my day-to-day responsibilities are the following:Drive end-to-end functionality associated with online video streaming, from compression and storage to streaming server setup/customization to cloud/CDN deployment to custom or off-the shelf player development. Offer expert advice on product roadmaps, shaping the vision with product owners and stakeholders. Build RTMP, HLS and WebRTC architectures, and Wowza Streaming Engine workflows. Deliver creative oversight of live production for onsite and/or virtual events, while leveraging profound knowledge of live-streaming production gear. Providing technical oversight and production services for internal and external live streaming events for the Government of British Columbia for more than a decade. ✪ Below are my notable accomplishments ✪➤ Reduced costs for a B2B e-learning company by architecting and engineering a replacement for expensive cloud services using a custom FFmpeg and Bento4 workflow, capable of ingesting multiple language audio and caption tracks and outputting HLS output.➤ Built and licensed an online event portal that technical directors of live-streamed events can use instead of the services Vimeo used to offer.➤ Reviewed legacy streaming systems and re-designed the streaming infrastructure for the public and private video collections of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) VideoCast system, making strategic trade-offs to satisfy multiple stakeholders across 27 unique divisions of the organization. ➤ Successfully designed pay-per-view product roadmap for a Boston theatrical company during COVID, architecting and deploying a player launch in less than two months.➤ Provided technical vision and product roadmap for next-generation HTML5 player for lynda.com, a major e-learning company, prior to acquisition by LinkedIn. Oversight of engineering resources, providing expertise with custom video player design to meet business requirements.
