Watershed Security Fund. Coordinating the execution of the Watershed Security Fund. In 2023, the Province of B.C. announced an initial $100 million provincial investment to kick-start the creation of an independent Watershed Security Fund. The Fund, and the long-term entity that will hold it, are to be co-developed and co-governed with First Nations to create a growing, permanent stream of funding to support watershed projects and initiatives across British Columbia. The Fund will build on outcomes and learnings from prior investments in B.C. watersheds, which underscore the value of investing in the health of watersheds in ways that uphold UNDRIP commitments, and provide enduring, predictable funding sources to support this critical work.

My doctoral research project is based on assessing farm health and farmer well-being by taking the case study of agroecological transitions in central India. My thesis takes a novel approach to understanding agroecological transitions.

• Coordinated, developed, designed and evaluated workshops and online resources for public engagement, conferences, forums, outreach community events, liaising with diverse stakeholders, clients and community partners across the province of British Columbia • Developed communication plans, community grant proposals and applications, training & presentation materials, surveys, infographics and managing website content, handled media inquiries, social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), Hootsuite • Collaborated and developed working relationships with service providers, clients, diverse stakeholders, First Nation communities and audiences • Managed volunteer program, coordination, training, management, collaborated with team members and developed team-building programs/activities

• Implemented, developed and executed recycling programs, educational & community outreach programs across various municipalities in Lower Mainland, BC, primarily targeting community events and festivals to reduce waste and increase environmentally-sustainable practices • Spearheaded event management in compliance with municipal and provincial waste management standards and policies, collaborating with multi-stakeholders (event planning committees, clients, sponsors, local recycling facilities and vendors, among others)• Framed proposals, letters, marketing materials, training manuals, online postings for outreach and waste management events, social media content and campaigns (Facebook, Twitter Instagram) • Performed staffing/allocation, coordination, training, scheduling of staff/volunteers for events which contributed to their successful execution. Also, involved in post-event closing activities such as auditing, collect metrics and reporting etc.

• Conducted and evaluated on-field research programs/trials, collected samples and contributed to analysis of the samples• Performed literature research, data entry into the quality tracking system and created reports to document findings• Implemented proper techniques to label samples, maintained lab inventories and followed safety protocols (GLP & GMP)

• Performed crop quality control through testing of cranberries using different standard tests for checking quality of the berries

• Promoted community engagement for the ‘Granville Island 2040 Vision’. Interacted with diverse communities at different locations in Lower Mainland, BC and surveyed their feedbacks for future planning and design of sustainable projects for Granville Island

• Performed soil & water sample preparation & analysis, performed trace metal analysis using ICP-AES and interpreted results• Assisted other graduate students in their research work in the greenhouse/growth chamber and collected data for experiments
