Worked in the Optical Spectroscopy Lab in the TCU Physics Department under Dr. Yuri Strzhemechny. My research involved synthesizing over 150 morphologies of Zinc Oxide using various concentrations and optoelectronic frameworks of Zinc Chloride, Zinc Acetate, HMT, and Ammonia. This was done to identify the optimal formula for producing a preservative material that could maximize the antimicrobial abilities of Zinc Oxide against various medical and cosmetic bacteria. I have also worked on a simultaneous project in which I synthesized chemical variations of polysulfone solutions to perform spin-coating on silicon wafers. From this experiment, I have developed a method of testing sample quality prior to SPV, EDX, and PXRD testing. This information will expedite the process of learning the electronic behavior of polysulfone in water-induced studies.
