As Principal and Design & Engineering Business Unit Leader at Vantage Technology Consulting Group, I served as a strategic leader, bridging client needs with expert IT, AV and Security designs. I built and led a design team that spanned across the US, developed and instilled best design practices including using industry standards and sharing resources and expertise across all projects.As a member of the executive leadership team, I engaged in long-term business strategic discussions, executing challenging operations including leading the Design & Engineering team through Covid-19 and the transition from an in-office team to a fully remote team.In addition to leading and managing the team, I provided senior project management as well as internal project management training. My clients included K-12 and Higher Education with a focus on Engineering and Research Classroom Buildings, Dormitories and Libraries.

After 20 years as a Project Manager in the MEP Engineering field, I left my career to explore options for my next chapter. I had an amazing few months traveling and assisting a non-profit. I was able to meet with industry leaders in many different areas (logistics, operations, sustainability and contracting, among others) and evaluate the next steps in my career.

While at RDK, I progressed from a project manager to an Associate VP and senior project manager with extensive project management responsibilities including larger tenant interior projects as well as actively building new clients and expanding our client relationships. I managed projects as large as 750,000SF which included new buildings, commercial interiors, retail and residential spaces. I continued to align the engineering design with the client's needs, the architect’s plans and the building’s systems. I reviewed the engineering drawings to confirm scope and coordination with design goals. I assisted with the pre-construction and construction process to provide the client with a design that met their expectations and budgetary goals.I was made a Partner of the firm in 2013 and it was acquired by NV5 in 2017. During the acquisition and under the new ownership, I continued to be involved with conversations about how the Boston Office was being managed. I also continued to manage projects and bring in new work to the firm. Most recently, I was working on commercial interiors, public housing and government projects.

I started at Environmental System Design (ESD) as an entry level HVAC designer. The HVAC industry is one where you can come to the job with very little knowledge. After a lot of on the job training, I continued to design and over my tenure there, I also became a senior project manager. I designed and managed tenant interior projects of various sizes as well as a few out of the ground new buildings including a 40-story condo building and a 10,000-person church and community center. As the designer, I was responsible for the calculations, specifications and drafting of the designs as well as the construction administration of the projects. As the project manager, I wrote the proposals, determined the scope and fee, acted as the communication conduit between the internal project team and the architect and end user, and assisted throughout the construction process with the construction team.
