The main duties of this role involve loading/unloading and operating the testing and cleaning units for Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nano- (NF), and Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes for 3rd party customers (e.g. BW Offshore, Nexen, British Sugar).The secondary duties are varying and wide in scope, including ordinary- and extraordinary maintainance of equipment or system upgrades (physical or procedural).The management of chemical inventory, among other consumables, and organisation of workspace is also an important part of the role as unit downtime must be avoided.During the role, a greater optimisation of processes was achieved by means of data analysis and observation of the process behaviour. This led to improvements in standard work procedure and additional ideas for future equipment upgrades.I taught and delegated tasks to other, less experienced, colleagues when they joined.

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Associate Programme is an annual programme conducted for participants from developing countries and those whose economies are in transition. It provides a valuable opportunity for scientists from these countries to be exposed to modern practices in the chemical industry.
