I program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and create the associated HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces). I do this to monitor (temperatures, pressures, flows, etc.) and control (pumps, valves, actuators, etc.) processes. I work prevalently with SoMachine and Vijeo Designer (Schneider Electric) and EasyPro Builder (Weintek). I have a good profeciency with Ladder Logic (LD).I work in close contact with our Design team (in charge of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Computer Assisted Design models, and more) and the Operations team (physically building the mechanical and eletrical systems of the plant) to aide in both these processes. Since ICMEA is a small company I have the opportunity to work on the "Full-Stack Process Engineering" proccess, including Project Management & Coordination.

Translating [ITA to ENG] university theses (masters/doctoral) and an autobiography (108 000 words). I also dealt with impagination (typesetting) of books and theses by using advanced features of MS Word.

The role serves both the technical and marketing departments of Kurita. Responsibilities include; the management of the Reverse Osmosis product portfolio - from launch, to field trials, to ongoing support and innovation - and the coordination with suppliers and manufacturers for (i) raw material management, (ii) profitability monitoring, and (iii) Quality Control. An emphasis on digitalisation is placed on these projects to improve real-time monitoring and troubleshooting activities. The role also involves Reverse Osmosis market analysis to the end of contributing to the development of the team market strategy.

I am responsible for the product stewardship of the Avista Technologies (UK) product range by ensuring that all certifications & permissions are accurate and up-to-date (renewing them as required). I manage and upkeep the safety and technical information of these products to maintain them in compliant state with their pertinent regulations.I liase with external labs, if additional tests (e.g. eco-toxicological, material compatibility, etc.) are required, and aide in coordinating the suppliers/manufacturers/distributors.I provide complementary advice on usage or troubleshooting to customers as well as being the main point of contact for queries and complaints. I assist in directing and supervising operations on-site with regards to membrane cleans, re-stocking, product packaging, etc. and serve as an additional shift-hands (Assistant Technician) if and when required.

The main duties of this role involve loading/unloading and operating the testing and cleaning units for Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nano- (NF), and Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes for 3rd party customers (e.g. BW Offshore, Nexen, British Sugar).The secondary duties are varying and wide in scope, including ordinary- and extraordinary maintainance of equipment or system upgrades (physical or procedural).The management of chemical inventory, among other consumables, and organisation of workspace is also an important part of the role as unit downtime must be avoided.During the role, a greater optimisation of processes was achieved by means of data analysis and observation of the process behaviour. This led to improvements in standard work procedure and additional ideas for future equipment upgrades.I taught and delegated tasks to other, less experienced, colleagues when they joined.

Responsible for the safety of groups of students (8-12) new to the University laboratory environment (Year 1) in the Chemical Engineering discipline. In addition, I promote their practical and written skills development through assessment and feedback. I also provide assistance to lecturers with large cohorts (80+) in tutorial sessions by preparing fully worked solutions of the problems and participating to the workshop to aid with delivery of the content and answering questions. These activities culminated with the attainment of the Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) status which is a teaching qualification.

Research and Grant title: Solid Sorbents for Thermal- and Microwave Swing Adsorption of post-combustion CO2 Capture.The paid-position involved research in CO2 capture methods, focussing on solid-sorbent such as Activated Carbons sourced from argicultural waste, and the integration of this with the overall Carbon Capture & Storage/Conversion supply-chain. Particular focus was placed on the regeneration of the sorbents using Thermal- and Microwave Swing methods. Experments were presented at multiple international conferences.-Presented at the XVI International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilisation (ICCDU) 2016 (Sheffield, UK) and won the “SCOT Project Flash Presentation First Prize” (Sep 2016)-Won a place at the highly-competitive IEAGHG Summer School 2016 (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada)-Presented at the International Workshop on Process Intensification (IWPI) 2016 (Manchester, 2016)

The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Associate Programme is an annual programme conducted for participants from developing countries and those whose economies are in transition. It provides a valuable opportunity for scientists from these countries to be exposed to modern practices in the chemical industry. It has been designed with the aim of contributing to the development of chemistry and chemical engineering in Member States, with special emphasis on chemical safety (verbatim from opcw.org).The job was an 8-week intensive programme and an enhancement to previous work done as Plant Manager for Year 3 Chemical Engineering students in the POMs module (Jan - Apr 2015 with Unitemps). Responsible for the supervision, practical- and technical training of course participants, academic and industrial professionals, on the HESS pilot-scale plant at University of Surrey. This also included the maintenance of all unit-operations and troubleshooting issues on the plant. The job included a Thinking Environment TM course, to train individuals in assertiveness, teamwork and leadership.

The aspirig applicants are guided through a series of presentations and a campus tour during the UCAS Day. The role consisted in showing the students and parents around the university and delivering a technical presentation of a Virtual Oil Refinery (VORCHEM). Key skills in this job were social communication skills and time management.
