Providing services to abused and neglected children and youth while preserving families in the District of Columbia. Supportive Family Services is the bridge to help troubled families to heal. CFSA connects families to services such as counseling, parenting classes, housing and child care assistance, and substance abuse treatment. The Healthy Families/Thriving Communities Collaboratives provide a variety of supportive programs to families right in their own neighborhoods. In addition, CFSA’s Clinical Practice office works to improve health and mental health services to all children and families we serve. Clinical doctors and nurses on staff at CFSA provide expert advice to social workers and foster parents. Supervise District of Columbia licensed social workers working with District of Columbia families to alleviate child safety and risk concerns that initiated a hotline call alleging Child Abuse and/or Neglect including unfounded allegations of Neglect.Assign cases and monitor service delivery that ensures child/family safety, permanency and well-being.Evaluate employee performance, conduct supervisory conferences and attend meetings and seminars to acquire knowledge of recent advancements in the growing field of social work.1. Promote the well- being and safety of children through the creation of strong community services.2. Provide children and families with a fair, timely and supportive intervention while showing courtesy and respect.3. Provide services that respect cultural, ethnic and religious beliefs.4. Provide a strong network of community supports.5. Offer services that recognize intra-familial strengths.Honor, affirm and acknowledge family strengths and weakness.I supervise up to 5 licensed social workers that are responsible for providing the full range of direct, professional social work services to children and families of the District of Columbia to include the areas of abuse and neglect.
