Hi! My name is Addina Rahaman, and I'm currently a third-year undergraduate pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science. I have a solid foundation, education, and experience in skills revolving algorithms, data structures, machine learning, database systems, and software engineering. I am currently a Data Science Research Intern under the mentorship of CCNY Professor Dr. Maria Sanchez Muniz (as well as other University of Minnesota alumni), to predict the state of thawing permafrost utilizing remote-sensing technology and machine learning methods. I am employing the following tools: Python, Java, Tensorflow, pandas, numPy, Scikit-Learn, and Google Earth Engine. In addition, I also wish to explore the intersection of data science and software engineering (using tools like Streamlit and Django) to build scalable applications to visualize and interact with data. I also actively participate in hackathons, and I am a member of my college's tech communities, such as the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), and Society of Women Engineers (SWE). I wish to apply these skills, experience, and findings beyond this campus and to utilize it in the industry. I am excited to grow in this field and explore the horizons of my capabilities.
