During my breaks from my own education, such as long weekends or holiday breaks, I would fill in as a paraprofessional at the Edgerton Elementary School where needed. I have had the opportunity to with a very wide range of kids. Many things vary depending on my tasks for the day, including the age of students, their disabilities, and the setting I work with them in. I learn just as much working with these students as they do working with me at school.

In the Edgerton Summer Recreational Program I direct a wide range of activities. I help lead the pee-wees program (1st-3rd grade co-ed baseball), and I helped direct a three-on-three basketball program for boys and girls grades 3-8. I also help direct a fit-and-fun program which encourages 4-6 year-olds to be active. Another duty I have is to coach a 12u softball team. This job has allowed me to work with a wide range of kids from different backgrounds. It also allows me to play and be active with the kids in the community.

I was left in charge of all the employees during the weekend afternoon shifts. I had to make sure the cash-register and food was being served efficiently. I also had to make sure the bakery and cooking tools were cleaned and cared for properly.
