When serving others the pursuit of excellence should be at the forefront of all actions.I am passionate about providing clinicians the support they need to serve their clients to the best of their ability by ensuring they are comfortable documenting their clinical engagement with a high standard of excellence. I do this by working with an incredible team to engage in thorough chart audits offering clinicians individualized feedback regarding how their documentation practices might be improved to improve client outcomes. This may look like providing insight regarding how the clinician might better tailor their therapeutic engagement to the client's needs or offering insight as to how notes and forms may be more tailored to ASAM criteria of impairment for their specific level of care to prevent a potential denial of authorization from that person's insurance. I work with individual facilities and Guardian Recovery leadership to identify trends in auditing data and then translate those trends into the development of strategic initiatives to address statistically significant deficits. I have developed trainings that guide therapists in learning how to more effectively engage in treatment planning and session note writing. The efficacy of utilizing quality auditing as a tool to increase rates of authorization within substance abuse and mental health treatment is substantiated by the decreased rate of denial and increased rate of asset protection seen by Guardian Recovery since the inception of the Quality Auditing Department. The audits I perform contribute to these positive company outcomes. I greatly enjoy learning and sharing what I learn with others. What I feel is my greatest accomplishment to date within my current role is garnering subject matter expertise for ASAM, 4th Edition and developing training and educational materials to present and disseminate to more than ten clinical teams within Guardian Recovery. Also within the scope of this project was the opportunity for me to lead a project rewriting the Clinical Documentation Training Manual to better reflect ASAM 4. The Clinical Documentation Training Manual is the standardized guide which all facilities within Guardian Recovery use to inform their clinical documentation practices, supplemented with feedback from the weekly audit.
