As a leader, I often turn to storytelling as a medium through which I can uplift my community; constructing accessible creative spaces that encourage diverse discussion. When I look back on the projects I’ve pursued ranging from film production to community organizing, storytelling is the thread that connects them all. With writing and producing, it’s crafting a story, with my diversity efforts such as my website MixedLife.net, it was celebrating and uplifting other people’s vibrant stories, and with my voting work, I’ve been driven to forge new stories of change. At UC Berkeley I’ve dove deeper, exploring a university packed with tales ready to be told through mini-docs with Cal TV and investing in our planet’s unfolding story as a communications assistant at the Center for Environmental Health.I've discovered that where I thrive is creating at this intersection of digital impact storytelling and collaboration, built on investment in my local community and organic, story-driven design.
