Worked as a special education teacher, supporting students (grades K-5), with a range of disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, autism, developmental delay, and other health impairments. In this role some of my responsibilities included serving as case manager for IEP paperwork, implementing replacement and modified instruction, consistently and accurately collecting data, supporting the development of behavior intervention plans, working with a team of educational professionals and related service staff, managing and collaborating with paraprofessionals, communication and collaboration with families, developing class-wide and individualized behavior management strategies, and developing/administering assessments.

5 day a week student teaching experience at Timber Ridge Therapeutic Day School in Arlington Heights, IL. In this setting I was responsible for teaching English instruction to middle school students (grades 6-8) with significant social emotional and behavioral needs. I also implemented some social-emotional learning instruction to these students. Additional responsibilities include tracking data towards student IEP goals, reflecting on my teaching on a daily and weekly basis, collecting behavioral data for each individual student, and implementing school-wide behavioral management procedures.

Equivalent to a 4 day per week student teaching clinical experience at Normal Community High School in an adaptive/life skills focused self-contained classroom. Responsible for designing and implementing instruction for 3 classes a day, monitoring student work, individualizing instruction, collecting assessment data, and providing support to small groups of students.

Paraprofessional in a special education classroom during Extended School Year (ESY). Responsibilities in this position included providing one-to-one support to a student and supporting the classroom teacher as needed.

Two day a week clinical experience where I taught in a Kindergarten and 1st grade resource room at Sugar Creek Elementary School in Normal, IL. I collaborated with my cooperating teacher to design and teach lesson plans. I implemented literacy and mathematics RTI in a small group setting,

Clinical experience in a second grade classroom where I provided one-to-one literacy instruction to a student at Metcalf Laboratory School in Normal, IL. I was responsible for developing and implementing one-to-one literacy lessons and collecting student data to individualize instruction while also informing my teaching.

Provided one-to-one care for individuals with multiple disabilities including changing and feeding. Engaged participants in camp activities and adapted materials on an individual basis.
