In the Luddy LLC, first-year students who love technology, whether they’re pursuing a major in the Luddy School or elsewhere on campus, live together and participate in a community of peers that gives them an edge at IU and beyond.A vital part of the Luddy LLC community is the student staff, otherwise known as peer mentors. A peer mentor is a dedicated upperclassman passionate about technology and student success. They provide guidance and support to first-year students, helping them navigate both academic and social aspects of life at IU. With a deep understanding of the resources and opportunities available within the Luddy School and beyond, they foster a collaborative community. Offering things like mentorship on coursework, internship advice, and personal development. Through events, one-on-one meetings, and community-building activities, they help students excel and feel at home in the Luddy LLC environment.

Pacesetters are enthusiastic and involved undergraduates who tell high school students, parents, and current IU students about what the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering is like, how they’ll fit in, and how Luddy will help you reach your goals. They promote inclusivity at the school and help plan and carry out a variety of diversity and inclusion initiatives involving outreach, recruiting, and retention.The Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Team Lead has to manage a team within the Pacesetters group focused specifically on student diversity and inclusion. Together in our small team we work to plan informative events focused on student interaction and learning.

Orientation Leaders (OLs) are an integral part of welcoming, orienting, and educating new students and their families as part of New Student Orientation (NSO). OLs serve as part of the Orientation Team (OTeam) alongside professional, graduate, and other undergraduate staff.OLs teach new Hoosiers about the resources, opportunities, and culture of Indiana University during NSO. This is a paid summer position during which OLs grow professionally and personally, and work as a team to mentor and support incoming students.OLs gain skills in various areas including leadership, teamwork, public speaking, facilitation, goal setting, and conflict management—all while learning more about IU.

A warehouse intern at Grinds Coffee Pouches plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations. They assist with organizing and managing inventory, preparing shipments, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the warehouse. Through hands-on experience, the intern learns about supply chain processes, inventory management systems, and order fulfillment. They collaborate with the warehouse team to meet daily production goals, all while gaining valuable insights into the fast-paced environment of a growing consumer goods company.
