I am a senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville pursuing a business degree in marketing with a collateral in international business and a minor in advertising and public relations. Individuals like me who are seeking success as a professional business leader must possess many qualities. All of these qualities are important, but one that I find most critical is discipline. Owning my own photography business as an undergraduate student has shown me that one must be disciplined to excel in whatever they do. Communicating with my customers, executing what content they are wanting, and making sure they are satisfied with the results, requires discipline and doing what is necessary to get the job done right. As this is one of my five Clifton strengths, I feel confident in knowing I am equipped with enough discipline to help me find success in a future career of digital content creation. When on the path of trying to pursue any career, challenges are guaranteed to be faced. These challenges spark motivation in an individual and push them to work harder. I find myself doing this when I am asked to do a photoshoot that doesn’t seem feasible. Once I do the photoshoot and see that I was in fact capable of something I thought I wasn’t, more creativity begins to grow within me. This creativity also begins to grow within the aspects of media and advertising, which I would identify as the two things that interests me the most about my career path. As my passion for photography aligns with these interests, I have found that content creation fits me the best for a future profession. Through already having some exposure in this industry with photography for a logistics company and clothing brand, I have learned it is imperative to stand apart. Both of these life experiences as an aspiring content creator have proven to me that if you want to be the best at what you do, you have to do the best at what you do. This attitude I will continue to implement into whatever opportunity I am given as I continue to shape into a professional business leader.
